Fire Department

The Ryegate Fire Department, extablished in 1974, has been an all  volunteer department until March 7, 2023 when the Town Meeting voted to go to a paid department.  There is currently a roster of 24; currently there are 16 active firefighters.

Main Station:  57 Witherspoon Road
Equipment includes three trucks--1996 1500  gpm 1250 gallon tank pumper, a 2005 500 gpm 3000 gallon tank tanker, and a 1987 equipment truck and command center.

Substation:  2360 Scott Highway
Equipment:  A 1980 1000 gpm 500 gallon tank pumper/forestry truck.
