History of Ryegate

Ryegate's history from its settlement in 1774 to 1912 was  chronicled by Edward Miller and Frederic Wells and published in 1913.  It was acclaimed by the Vermont Historical Society as one of the best town histories in the State.  The complete text including family geneology, can be found at:  www.electricscotland.com/history/ryegate/index.htm

A sequel, Down of the Thistle, written by Rev. White and published in 2006, chronicles 20th century life in Ryegate.
